Reducing Youth Violence

Youth Violence THE STATS

    • In 2022 in Birmingham, youth violence with injury increased by 13.2% to 8,335 incidents and drug offences increased by 52% to 7,936
    • Young people are actively recruited by gangs from outside their schools for criminal exploitation
    • Youth violence is a core priority for local police

Improving Mental Health Resilience

Mental Health THE STATS

    • In England, around 18% of children aged 7 to 16 had a probable mental health condition in 2022, up from 12% in 2017
    • An estimated 1 in 6 adults have experienced depression or anxiety in the past week
    • The NHS in England spent £14.9bn on mental health services in 2021/2022 -13.8% of local NHS funding allocations

Connecting Young People to their Purpose

Unemployment and Cost of Living THE STATS

    • Birmingham has the highest claimant unemployment rate of 11.5% amongst the core cities and is well above the UK average of 4.6%
    • Birmingham has the highest total number of households living in fuel poverty
    • Birmingham also has the greatest proportion of households in fuel poverty with 23.2% unable to stay warm and safe at home

We invite you to learn about the fantastic work we have started in the city to tackle youth violence and build mental health resilience. We are a black led, female led, charity, driven by a lived experience view point.

 

We are proud to help to connect young people aged 13-25 to their purpose by introducing them to new opportunities.

We are passionate about challenging the over representation and under representation of BAME young people in key sectors including, mental health, criminal justice and education.

With a passion to support children, young people and families, Sabrina Dennis has over 15 years of experience working within the local community. A specialist in community engagement, with skills in Project Management, Business Management, Event Planning and Teaching, Sabrina brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and passion to see young people live their lives on purpose. Nathan Dennis

Leader/ Award Winning Social Entrepreneur, Author and Youth & Community specialist Consultant Nathan uses his years of experience to connect with young people & local communities and helps many companies effectively engage, connect and build lasting relationships with those deemed traditionally hard to reach. This has led to real impact and produced fantastic results across a wider range of industries, some of which include the Criminal justice system, Health, Education, Arts and Construction.

Daniella Genas

Entrepreneur, Consultant, Speaker, Workshop Facilitator. Daniella is a Senior Business Advisor with the Enterprise Europe Network and helps SME’s to transform their businesses. With a MBA and Masters under her belt alongside her entrepreneurship experience and formal training, Daniella has a breadth of knowledge which has proven invaluable to the clients she works with.

Mike Royal

Mike Royal is Chair of First Class Foundation. He is the Co Chief Executive of Cinnamon Network UK and former National Director and pioneer of Transforming Lives for Good. Bishop Mike has 27 years experience in ordained ministry and is a Forensic Mental Health Chaplain with Birmingham & Solihull NHS Mental Health Foundation Trust. He is married to Viviene and lives in Handsworth, Birmingham.
